RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT OF RESEARCH TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT OF RESEARCHAll PhD students: Effective Fall 2011, all incoming PhD students at Georgia Tech are required to complete two types of Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training. The first type is online training. The online training can be taken in more than one session. However, you must successfully complete it within 90 days of being enrolled in your PhD program or a hold will be placed on your registration. The second type is a for-credit course that you are strongly encouraged to complete within your first year.

Master's Thesis students: Starting Fall 2014, all master’s students who register for thesis hours (courses numbered 7000) must complete at least one type of RCR training. There are three options that can satisfy this requirement. The RCR training must be completed and verified before the Request for Approval of Master’s Thesis Topic Form will be processed by the Office of Graduate Studies.
