Mailing Instructions for Graduate Application Material
PLEASE DO NOT STAPLE, CLIP, BIND, BRAD OR TIE YOUR DOCUMENTS TOGETHER. LEAVE ALL SHEETS LOOSE AND STACK THEM IN ORDER. BECAUSE THEY WILL BE IMAGED, OUR STAFF MUST TAKE THE TIME TO REMOVE ALL STAPLES AND CLIPS, PULL OFF ALL BINDERS, CUT OFF ALL BRADS AND TIES. THIS WILL SPEED THE PROCESSING OF YOUR APPLICATION.
Required Supporting Documents For US / PR Applicants
- Permanent Resident Card
- Copy of Front/Back of Card (former international, now permanent resident). If you have applied, but have not yet received your card, send a copy of the application document.
- Official Transcripts
- From any college/university attended.
- If you are currently enrolled, you should send transcripts for all courses completed to date. Prior to matriculation you will be asked to provide final transcripts that show all coursework completed and that a degree has been awarded.
- Test Scores
- GRE (all programs except Management) – Official Scores must be received directly from Educational Testing Service.
- Some programs require both the General exam and a Subject exam. To see what your specific program requires, visit Graduate Degree Programs and select your program from the list provided.
- GMAT – Management (both MBA and PhD)
Required Supporting Documents For International Applicants
- Transcripts
- Official Native Language Transcript
- Official Translation of the Native Language Transcript
- Note: Transcripts must be provided for any college/university attended for at least one academic year.
- Degree Documents
- Official Native Language Degree Document
- Official translation of the Native Language Degree Document
- Note: Degree documents must be provided for all degrees awarded
- Test Scores

- If you have attended a US college or university for at least one full academic year, you are exempt from the TOEFL.
- Financial Documentation of Support
- International students admitted to Georgia Tech must demonstrate sufficient resources that can be used to cover at least the first year of graduate study. You must obtain certified documents from your financial institution that these funds are available from personal/family accounts, sponsors or official governmental documents of support. Examples of Financial documents should be liquid assets shown on a checking or savings account statement or a CD with a maturity date of next week. If funds are being sponsored, the third party financial documents and a letter of support from the sponsor must accompany all the information above. If you have no funds available, you should have entered zero in the boxes on the Non-Citizen Form and should have indicated on Part 1 of the Application that you require financial aid and no documentation will be expected.
- You should have completed the Funding section on the Non-Citizens Form on the online application. You were asked on this form to indicate the support you have available over a four year period of time. If you have funds available for all or part of these years, you should indicate the amount available in each of the four boxes and send certified bank documents attesting to this.
Where To Send Supporting Documents

If at all possible, supporting documents should be included in one envelope with your online application transaction ID number affixed to the front of the documents. Do not staple, clip, or bind your supporting documents; doing so will slow the processing of your documents.
